Master Gardeners help with Arizona Gardening

Comments Off

University of Arizona Master Gardeners are trained volunteers who answer your questions about gardening in Arizona with research-based information.

Monday thru Friday, from 9 am to 12 noon, Master Gardeners staff their office in the PORA building to answer homeowner’s questions or help research a topic in their extensive library.  Copies of U of A research publications are available  to read, and a list of the publication index is also available!  Bring in samples or photos related to your question to help the identification process.  There’s even a bug library so you can identify those pesky beasts!

A Diagnostic Clinic is held at the PORA Master Gardener office Once a month, on the first Thursday of the month from 10 am to 12 noon, with Master Gardeners helping to puzzle out problems from Master Gardeners and homeowners in the Northwest Valley.  Homeowners are invited to attend this clinic, along with many Master Gardeners,  to  provide answers to a great variety of questions and gardening challenges brought into the clinic.

Master Gardeners also teach and help homeowners with questions at  Question & Answer Clinics at the Northwest Regional Libraries in Surprise (first Saturday of the month from 10-2) and Sun City (first Monday of the month from 10-noon). Master Gardeners are also in attendance at community events including many City of Surprise events, the January Sun City West Green Fair, and at Surprise Water Department classes. (Homeowners are also invited to call the office hotline at 623-546-1672, and calls received after hours will be returned the next office day.)
