Post Election Thanks

David Moeller
The elections for 2012 have been concluded and the results provided a lot of material for further thought. However, before discussing some of these issues in a separate blog, on behalf of the Governing Board, I would like to recognize and applaud the people involved in this process. First, we want to thank the 15,500 owner members who turned out to vote. Your involvement was critical in helping to define the future of the Association. Whether you were part of the thirteen thousand members who cast their votes in support of the Association or you were one of the members who said you wanted change, your votes mattered and your concerns were heard. We also want to extend our appreciation to the membership office staff. Member Services Supervisor Sandy Jugenheimer and those wonderful people helped over FOURTEEN THOUSAND members pick up early ballots. These folks actually have full time jobs assisting members that usually doesn’t involve elections so if any of you who picked up a ballot felt you had to wait too long, I hope you can understand what a great job they performed. There were many others who helped by collating the ballots, instructions, and envelops, directed traffic in the front office, and delivered ballots to the home-bound. Thanks Norm, Sunny, Katy, Rose, and Sharon. Thanks also to Norm Bunas, our owner member election chair again this year, and his committee of members who supervised the process. You all performed your responsibilities at the highest level. This year’s election also saw literally hundreds of our owner members turn out to campaign for their position regarding the ballot proposals and candidates. We want to thank the groups and individual members who took the time to be informed and involved in this election. Your particiapation helped make us a stronger community. This was an historical election and only possible through the combined efforts of each of you.

Thank you Dave and your Board for doing a “stand up” job. “You reap what you sow”.
