The Recreation Centers of Sun City West Inc. is a not-for-profit 501c4Private Golf Community located in the Northwest Valley of Phoenix Arizona

Hi Lin. Many of the classes are taught by our talented residents right here in Sun City West. The costs are designed to ensure the program is self-sustaining, rather than placing the burden on rec fees, so fees are assessed. These include an administrative fee to handle the online booking, a fee to cover the Rec Centers’ costs, and the instructor’s costs. We keep them as affordable as possible.
R H Johnson is great. Mel & Sharom Bauck
PS We are also wondering why the classes offered are so expensive? There must be a wealth of people right here in SCW that could speak on a variety of topics of interest without charging anything or at least not more than $5 per person. Even if there is a film shown seems like $5 pp should cover that cost?

My husband & I went to the Restoration Club Car Show on the 19th. Congratulations to all participating members/volunteers – this was one outstanding show! The best one we’ve attended in several years, so professionally run. We think the Restoration Club is a great idea and look forward to future events.
Thanks for your inquiry, Jim. According to Automotive/Restoration Club President Herb Clark, the car show is set for 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, in the R.H. Johnson Rec Center parking lot. (The show also features a car-part exchange, which we expect will be a popular attraction for car-restoration addicts.) Almost 40 trophies will be up for grabs at the show in different categories, and entries continue to be accepted. In addition to live entertainment, there also will be food available for purchase and raffles for various prizes. Monies raised at the event will go toward the club’s efforts to construct a permanent building for its members’ primary purpose, which is “to restore parts of history,” according to Clark.
We’ll round up more information soon but, in the meantime, feel free to call Club President Clark at 623-444-7778 if you would like more details.
Have heard about car show on the 19th of Jan., but can
get no information on web site.
