Brighten a child’s holiday with “Toys for Kids”

You can help to make a child’s holiday brighter by participating in SCW’s “Toys for Kids” drive. All residents are invited to join in by contributing new, unwrapped toys or gift certificates for children in our local area this holiday season.

You can drop your gifts off between the hours of 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. at the Women’s/Boomers clubs at 14401 R.H. Johnson Blvd. (at the Kuentz Recreation Center) from Monday, Nov. 27 until Friday, Dec. 8. Gifts for children ages newborn to 12 years are greatly appreciated.

Residents are welcome to join us from 9 a.m to 11 a.m. Dec. 11th in the Kuentz courtyard. Come see Santa and the kindergarten children from the Desert Oasis School (Surprise) and Nadaburg School District (Wittman).

Hot Chocolate, Coffee and Cookies will be served. The Woodworking Club will be passing out handmade toys to the children.

Toys from this drive go to El Mirage Family Health Center, Dysart Community Center, Army Veterans Group, Nadaburg School District, Desert Oasis Elementary and Eve’s Place.

This event is sponsored by the Recreation Centers of Sun City West and hosted by the Women’s and Boomers Clubs. All clubs are invited to participate. Some of those participating last year were Softball, Angels in the Outfield, Independence League, Mac-Cro-Knit (Knit caps), Bocce, Jazzercise at R.H. Johnson, Pickleball, Trail Ridge Men’s Golf, Grandview Women’s Golf, Copper Enameling and Glass Arts, Arthritis Club, Energetic Exercisers and Country Western Dance.
