Hole-in-one contest offers potential $500,000 grand prize!
The Recreation Centers of Sun City West’s second-annual hole-in-one contest offers local golfers the chance to win a $500,000 grand prize, in addition to daily $250 gift cards, golf shoes and golf balls.
Sponsored by the Rec Centers and Saini Smiles Dentistry, the event is going on now through Saturday, March 18, at Echo Mesa Golf Course, 20349 N. Echo Mesa Drive, Sun City West. The contest is open to all individuals 18 and older who are amateur golfers.
The event takes place from 1:30 p.m. to dusk Monday through Friday during the contest period and noon to 4 p.m. Saturday on Echo Mesa’s driving range. Cost is $5 for seven golf balls, with the goal to hit as close as possible to the 125-yard target. There will be multiple hitting stations to accommodate as many participants as possible.
Closest to the hole each day will win a $250 gift card to the RCSCW golf courses, and entry into the finals, which begin 6 p.m. Saturday, March 18. Second closest each day will be awarded a pair of FootJoy shoes and third each day will receive a box of PROV1 logo balls.
The finals will consist of seven participants, six of whom are the daily winners. The seventh qualifier will be someone randomly drawn from all who participated in the contest but didn’t qualify as a daily winner. This allows everyone who plays a chance to make it into the finals. The more a golfer plays, the better his or her chances to make it into the finals.
Any of the finalists who makes a hole in one during the finals on Saturday could win up to $500,000. In the event none of the finalists make a hole in one, the golfer with the ball closest to the hole will win an additional $300 gift card to be used at any of the seven RCSCW golf courses.
Just like last year, all proceeds will benefit the Sun City West Foundation.
ALL SIX DAILY WINNERS AND THE RANDOM QUALIFIER WILL DRAW FOR A CHANCE AT 135 YARDS FOR A HOLE IN ONE WORTH $500,000. THE REMAINING SIX QUALIFIERS WILL HAVE A CHANCE AT 135 YARDS FOR A HOLE IN ONE WORTH $250,000.
