WORK EXPERIENCE: Supervises IT staff. Provides risk assessment and risk management. Coordinates and oversees major team projects. Other duties may be assigned.
• Coaches and mentors team members.
• Organizes regular seminars and trainings to teach team members new techniques and methods. Attends external trainings and seminars to keep skills up to date; and ensures team members receive necessary training in their respective areas to keep skills up to date.
• Works with other departments to conduct needs analysis and review service levels.
• In consultation with General Services Officer, identifies and recommends new scalable technology solutions to operationally and strategically meet current and future organizational needs.
• Tests new software and hardware, and coordinates implementation of same.
• Performs regular risk assessments, identifies weaknesses and initiates risk control strategies.
• Performs regular IT audits including review of network, internal processes and appraisal of team members’ performance. Recommends areas of improvement.
• Oversees Help Desks to ensure adequate response times and service.
• Works with General Services Officer to develop and executes Association IT policies.
• Manages staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage so Association and end-users’ needs are met.
• Ensures proficiency in all processes, network and most major software packages used within Association to provide skilled backup as needed.
• In absence of other team members, answers, evaluates, prioritizes and handles incoming requests for assistance from users experiencing problems.
• Responds to early-hours and after-hours emergency support requests, delegates to team members as appropriate.
• Creates and maintains catalogue of IT contracts, expiration dates and service agreements.
• Works with team to maintain up-to-date log of Association’s hardware, software and licenses to enable routine replacement schedule.
• Presents to Governing Board and staff on various projects or reports, as needed.
• Prepares standard statistical reports.
• Writes or revises user training/procedure manuals.
• Maintains consistent record of acceptable attendance and punctuality according to the policy and/or departmental guidelines.

Supervisory Responsibilities
This job has direct supervisory responsibilities for IT staff & reports to General Services Officer.

Education and/or Experience – Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, management information systems, or related. Minimum 5+ years’ experience in IT environment including at least 2 years’ experience leading IT teams, solutions and projects. Project management and excellent communication skills. In-depth knowledge of management goals and vision. In-depth knowledge of computer usage, networking and programming.
