The Recreation Centers of Sun City West Governing Board has elected new officers for FY 2018/19.

On July 1, Jim Sloan will take his place as board president, while Bryan Walus fills the vice-president slot. George Kuchtyak Jr. was named secretary and Barbara Senefeld, treasurer. Congratulations to the Association’s new officers.

These individuals step into their new positions effective July 1, at which time they will be short one board member, due to a director resignation in February. The Rec Centers is currently accepting applications for this one-year term to complete the board.

Candidates who are interested in being considered for the one-year term must meet the following criteria:

  • Be an owner-member in good standing, available on a year-round basis.
  • Be available for interviews the week of July 1, 2018.
  • Be available for Board Training on July 9 and 10, 2018.

Submit a resume by 3 p.m. Friday, June 15, to Executive Assistant Karen Roepken. Resumes may be emailed to karen.roepken@suncitywest.com; dropped off in person at the Governing Board Office in the R.H. Johnson Recreation Center between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. weekdays; or mailed to Recreation Centers of Sun City West, Attn: Executive Assistant Karen Roepken, 19803 R.H. Johnson Blvd., Sun City West, AZ 85375.

  1. Too bad it is difficult to find many people to take on these duties, but understandable. Too much work and time for most people who retired. The need to help their community must be strong and the desire to have their voice heard bringing a feel of importance to the community is an attraction.
