RCSCW welcomes our newest Chartered Club!

Submitted by Suzanne Arnopolin

The LGBT Club of Sun City West is your newest and coolest Chartered Club. We are a social club dedicated to the needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender folks and their allies in SCW. This group is open to anyone. We want to promote community, meeting new people, ending isolation and facilitate networking.

Dues are $10 per year.

We gather the second Monday of each month at 5:30 p.m., and fourth Sunday at 2 p.m.  at our space within  the Men’s club. Activities may include hanging out, movies, bingo, card games, potlucks, social outings and more.

Our website : has more details about our activites.

Our next gathering will be 5:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 11 at our space within the Men’s Club.

Please join us at our inaugural charter gathering and help us celebrate the diversity within Sun City West!

  2. Barbara Holland says:

Wonderful, congratulations. Wishing your club much success and lots of fun!

  3. We are so excited that this club is now officially sanctioned by the Rec Centers and welcome all members of the SCW community. Gay, Lesbian, Straight, Transgender, Allies- we are really all one big family- The Human Race, and want to provide a space for all folks to feel comfortable in their own skin. This is also a great club if you are a parent, grandparent, friend or neighbor of an LGBT person. We applaud the Rec Center for their vision of diversity and inclusitivity in our wonderful community. Please come to our gathering on December 11, 5:30pm and check us out!

  6. Vincent Meyers says:

How many people do we need to start a chartered club?
Was this one started with less than the needed numbers?

    • Multimedia says:

Hello Vincent. from the RR&P’s for chartered clubs: “…Non-craft clubs require a minimum of 75 valid paid-up members; craft clubs require a minimum of 50 valid paid-up members.” The LGBT Club has more than 75 members, all with current rec cards, and they’re still growing. Hope this helps. If you have additional questions, you can contact Chartered Clubs Specialist Dori Miller at or 623-544-6193.
