Reader’s Digest is in search of the Nicest Place in America! If you think Sun City West qualifies for this honor (and we certainly do!) let people across the country know that.

Local resident Peggy Joynson invites you to nominate your community (she did!); you have until June 20 to do so, ten finalists will be announced on June 21.

If you use the 85375 zip code, like Peggy did, Reader’s Digest will collate the stories and pictures and make this entry even better. Here’s how to enter:

Reader’s Digest has invited residents to submit more nominations, the more nominations, the greater our chance of winning. Check back throughout the month at to see all the other entries, wouldn’t it be great if we won? Don’t let Peggy down …

Peggy Joynson is a Sun City West volunteer extraordinaire. She donates countless volunteer hours to the R. H. Johnson Library in the Media Department, for the Friends of the Library book sales, and as the Friends bookkeeper. She also contributes many hours to the Sun City West Prides and is a both a former president and former treasurer of that organization. In addition, she is an enthusiastic organizer for the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life. She and her husband Bill Beach were recognized as the 2016 Sun City West Hometown Heroes Community Volunteers.

Here is Peggy’s nomination:

I cannot imagine living where else. Most people are super friendly and you can find the kinds of friends tha you fit in with. 85375 is a true place in the sun. If you are bored, it is your own fault is a favorite saying of ours.
