Sun City West hosts Dr. Ed Zamrini of Banner Sun Health Research Institute

The Recreation Centers of Sun City West is pleased to host Banner Sun Health Research Institute once again from 9 to 10 a.m. Monday, June 19, with guest speaker Dr. Ed Zamrini, director of the Cleo Roberts Clinic at BSHRI. This free event will be held in the Lecture Hall at the R.H. Johnson Rec Center, 19803 R.H. Johnson Blvd., Sun City West.

Dr. Zamrini will present, “Is this Alzheimer’s Disease?” a discussion of the causes, treatments, and prevention of Alzheimer’s disease, as well as what you can do to help end Alzheimer’s. While this talk is targeted to those who are experiencing memory or thinking problems and are interested in learning more about what they can do to help themselves and Alzheimer’s research, everyone is welcome to attend.

Following the presentation, five Clinical Trials staff members will be on site to answer further questions and speak one-on-one with individuals interested in volunteering for clinical research at Banner Sun Health Research Institute.

This is not a ticketed event, seating is limited and will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.

  1. Is this talk different than the one given a few months back. Have the age requirements changed for the trials they have underway. I turn 80 in Oct. and most trials do not want folks that are that old.

  2. Multimedia says:

Yes Peter, this talk will have a different tone, cognitive impairment and Alzheimer’s will be the focus. There may be a representative from the GeneMatch program there, which had the 55-75 age requirement, but there will be other individuals there to talk with you about other clinical trials as well. We hope you’ll join us.

  3. Marian D says:

From my studies and being in a trial for DARK GRAPES: EAT them.
    and cherries.
And don’t eat anything after 8:30 pm. (From psych at UCLA)

I am taking Arecept even thou Dr. says my mind is is great shape!

  4. Shirley says:

Sure wish these sessions would be held during the winter months or recorded for future viewing – so much technology out there to be used to share with interested audience who can’t attend. OR is there a LIBRARY we can access these records?

  5. Multimedia says:

Hello Shirley, we did hold 2 events in January featuring the Doctors from Banner Alzheimer’s Institute and Banner Sun Health Research Institute. Sorry you missed them …we don’t record them at this point. We continue events throughout the summer because we have many year-round residents.
